John Custie hails from New York. His musical education, all private,includes formal vocal and instrument training. music preparation, arranging, counterpoint, orchestration and composition. His performances include club dates, corporate functions, Broadway productions, concerts, recording sessions, radio and TV appearances. His performance abilities include a wide variety of popular and ethnic styles including rock, disco, rhythm & blues, cajun, zydeco and tex-mex, as well as classical and jazz styles.

John has recorded or performed with local and international celebrities, and is also a music educator. Not to be forgotten are the lectures and open discussions given at junior and high schools, colleges and universities, on the subject of "The Music Business" and what it takes to survive, as well as demonstrating to the student body the vast capabilities of the accordion. He offers students insight and encouragement and has also received local awards from his community.

John has also taught privately and is a member of ASCAP and NARAS.
